RC Freiburg: Weihnachtsaktion - Postcards around the world

Like a non-secret variant of Secret Santa with postcards, this Weihnachtsaktion (Christmas project) wants to connect past, present and future scholarship holders around the world by matching participants with partners and sending each other postcards for Christmas.
So much is online, especially with the Covid-19 pandemic. How nice will it be to have a handwritten postcard in the mailbox! :)
How does it work?
- Register to the event now. While registering, you will be asked your address and some information. Deadline: November 28th at midnight.
- At the beginning of December, I will match everyone and you will receive an email with the contact details of your postcard-partner.
- Send a postcard to your partner for Christmas so that it arrives in time for (or before) Christmas.
- Wait for your own Christmas postcard and enjoy :) We will collect some pictures of postcards in the end for a small picture gallery.
For more information, see below under "more information"
The data you provide in the survey will be seen by me, and your contact details (name and postal address), your language preference and you place of exchange will be forwarded to your partner. Your email will only be forwarded if you have requrested a Christmas email instead of a postcard. By participating in this event, you confirm that you are okay with this.
More details:
I will try to match people so that you have one thing in common, either the place you went to in Germany or the country abroad. Sometimes you will both send to and reveice from the same partner, sometimes a different one. This depends on who participates.
You will be able to specify whether writing/reading in German or English is better for you.
You will be able to specify that you prefer a Christmas email if postal shipping is interrupted in your country, e.g. due to Corona.
You can choose what type of postcard you want to send - anything is fine, something Christmas-themed, something New Years-themed, something from your city, something entirely different... there are no limits.
What you write on the postcard is up to you. Everything is okay - a story, a memory, a friendly greeting, ...
You can send your postcard in an envelope if you want your postcard-match to be able to write back if they are interested. So you can choose whether you want to be ananymous or not (unless you are matched for both sending and receiving, then you are not anonymous - we will see how the matching goes).
If you registered, but after the deadline (28th November) you realise you cannot participate any more (for whatever reason), please let me know so that I can re-match your partner!
